ABOUT US

Sustainability
Brisbane Oyster Farm Tours is dedicated to sustainable and responsible tourism on Moreton Island, offering an eco-friendly experience in the pristine waters of Moreton Bay. Sustainability guides every decision we make, from our oyster farming practices that naturally sequester carbon, to following Leave No Trace principles, and encouraging guests to respect the environment during their visit.

Our eco-conscious policies include using biodegradable and recyclable products, minimal packaging, and locally made items wherever possible. We also host educational programs for school groups, organise local waterway clean-ups, employ members of the Brisbane and Moreton Island community, and show deep respect for the traditional custodians of the land.

Currently, we are working towards Ecotourism Australia certification, ensuring our Moreton Island oyster farm toursmeet the highest standards of sustainability and eco-tourism, making it one of the most responsible and rewarding things to do near Brisbane.
Our family owned and run oyster farm
Our family-run oyster farm has proudly opened a new location on Moreton Island, just a short ferry ride from Brisbane’s CBD. Visitors can go behind the scenes and experience the freshest oysters imaginable, straight from our farm-gate to your plate!

Oyster farming is one of the most sustainable forms of aquaculture, as oysters naturally filter nutrients from the water and require no additional feeding. This makes our farm clean and low-impact on the surrounding environment, so you can enjoy your oysters knowing they are responsibly farmed in the pristine waters of Moreton Bay.
